CCEC is proud to introduce our updated outage texting feature!
At Coleman County Electric Cooperative, we’re committed to keeping you informed and empowered—especially during unexpected power outages. That’s why we’re excited to introduce our new outage texting feature!
Now, reporting an outage is easier than ever. Simply text OUT to 1-800-560-2128 to let us know your power is out.
This new feature is part of our ongoing effort to enhance communication, improve service reliability, and ensure you’re never left in the dark.
Important Information About Our New Outage Texting Feature
Coleman County Electric Cooperative now offers a convenient way to report outages by text. Here’s what you need to know:
- How to Report: Text OUT to 1-800-560-2128 if you're experiencing a power outage and have three or fewer active meters on your account. You’ll be prompted to select the location by replying A, B, or C.
- Phone Number Requirements: Your cell phone number must be linked to your electric account before using this feature. Please contact our office to ensure your contact information is up to date.
- Texting Is for Reporting Only: This feature does not send outage notifications—it’s designed to let you report and confirm your outage with us.
Still Using 55050? Members who have used the OUTAGE text to 55050 may continue to do so. However, we recommend switching to our new preferred number: 1-800-560-2128.
Technology Isn’t Perfect: If you don’t receive an automatic confirmation after texting, please call us at (325) 625-2128 or 1-800-560-2128 to ensure your outage is reported.
This upgrade is just one more way we’re working to serve you better!
